BIOGRAPHY

Roger Bart is a Tony Award winner, best known for originating the role of ‘Carmen Ghia’ in Mel Brooks’ Broadway musical, The Producers, for which he received Tony and Drama Desk nominations.  He revised this memorable character for Universal’s film adaptation of The Producers as well. Roger won the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for playing Snoopy in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway.  Bart is currently recurring on the new Epix series, Graves, starring opposite Nick Nolte and Sela Ward.  He also starred on the Netflix series, A Series of Unfortunate Events, playing Vice-Principal Nero opposite Neil Patrick Harris.  His recent film pedigree includes the independent film, Speech & Debate, which was the film adaptation of Stephen Karam’s acclaimed off-Broadway play as well as Trumbo, which was directed by Jay Roach and starred Bryan Cranston.

Bart is the singing voice of Hercules in the Disney animated musical film Hercules. He also voiced the character of Scamp in Lady and the Tramp 2. Other Broadway credits include:  Young Frankenstein, Disaster, Triumph of Love, and The Frogs. He also appeared as Bud Frump in the national tour of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Cousin Kevin in The Who’s Tommy.

Other film credits include: Last Vegas, Law Abdiding Citizen, American Gangster, and The Stepford Wives (this role was created for specifically for Bart and was based on his character in The Producers).  Bart has also recurred in a number of other television series such as:  Episodes, Grace and Frankie, Revenge, Desperate Housewives, 30 Rock, Law & Order, and many more.

  • Begins with a couple of group exercises, then prefers to do a mock audition.

  • He likes to have a list of the songs that the students are singing, as well as the lyrics of each song.

  • He loves to spend time onstage with students, very hands-on and interactive.

MINI-CONCERT/ SHOWCASE

  • He loves to talk to the audience about the power of standing and singing, relating to a song, and how meaningful his experiences have been for people coming to the theatre and seeing a show.

  • He loves to tell stories and anecdotes.

  • He sometimes like to sing a cappalla to create an intimate experience for the audience.
