ATTENDANCE/
SELLING TICKETS

You may sell tickets to your event as you please. Artist fees are not based on attendance. We encourage you to price tickets appropriately, promote, and recoup/ profit for the benefit of your theatre. The suggestions below reflect past successful events and experiences.

MASTERCLASS

PRICING

For studios and theatres that rely on performer-paid admission, the most popular selling format is pay-per-person. Example:

  • Observer ticket:  $20
  • Participant ticket:  $100

MINI-CONCERT

TIERED PRICING

Tiered pricing is great way to reach different ages and economic levels of audiences. Set certain numbers of tickets at various prices. Your exact pricing should be based on your community and audience reach. Examples:

  • General Admission:  $45
  • VIP:  $100
  • Student Tickets:  $20

VIP/ MEET & GREET:

You may sell a limited number of tickets at a higher price and arrange a 30-minute meet-and-greet with the artist for VIP buyers only. This is a popular way to sell premium tickets at higher prices.  NOTE: This must be pre-approved.

  • Premium, centrally located seats in the theater.
  • Includes 'Meet & Greet' with the artist. This typically takes place 30-minutes prior to curtain (i.e. 6:20 - 6:50pm before a 7pm show).
  • Meet & Greets work best before the show, rather than after. Alternatively, a Meet & Greet can be organized between the time of the Masterclass and the Mini-Concert.
  • This is a great opportunity for photos, special patron introductions, etc.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

  • Encourage or require students, faculty, and parents to bring (2) attendees each.
  • Offer a discount for people associated with the event.
  • Include the ticket price in a masterclass or workshop fee.
